The nominees for the 2024 Simon Mabhunu Sabela KZN Film and TV Awards have been unveiled, marking a significant milestone in South Africa’s entertainment industry. Held at the esteemed Coastlands Skye Hotel in Umhlanga, the event was hosted by KZN Tourism and Film Authority in partnership with the Economic Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs department. It showcased the exceptional talent and creativity thriving within KwaZulu-Natal’s dynamic film and television sector.

“We are excited to announce the nominees for the 2024 Simon Mabhunu Sabela KZN Film and TV Awards,” stated Ms. Jackie Motsepe, emphasizing the awards’ pivotal role in fostering local filmmaking. The addition of new Technical Award categories, such as Best Use of Cinematography and Best Production Design, underscores the industry’s commitment to recognizing diverse creative contributions.

Leading the nominations is the Bomb Production series Shaka Ilembe, recognized in multiple categories including Best Actor TV and Best Production Design. Esteemed figures like Nomzamo Mbatha, Deli Malinga, and Hope Mbele have been acknowledged for their outstanding performances and contributions.
