ALLIANCE PARTNERS VENT FRUSTRATION AT ANC FOR BEING LEFT OUT OF DECISION-MAKING PROCESS

The African National Congress (ANC) is facing criticism from its alliance partners, who feel they are being marginalized and excluded from key decision-making processes. The South African Communist Party (SACP), Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU), and South African National Civic Organization (SANCO) expressed their discontent at a press conference in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

The alliance partners accused the ANC of failing to consult them on critical matters, including coalition talks in the province. SACP provincial secretary Themba Mthembu stated, “We are committed to the ANC’s policies, but we will not be ignored. The ANC’s lack of consultation is unacceptable.”

COSATU provincial secretary Edwin Mkhize added, “The ANC’s decisions are made unilaterally, without regard for our input. This disregard for our partnership is alarming.”

The tensions between the ANC and its alliance partners may have far-reaching implications for the future of the alliance and the political landscape in South Africa.
