In an effort to tackle the rising unemployment rates and equip the youth with the necessary tools for a successful future, the Glory Bush Foundation, in partnership with various organizations, will host an inspiring Career Expo on July 18th and 19th at Princess Magogo Stadium, KwaMashu. The event aims to provide high school learners from grades 7 to matric with invaluable career guidance and opportunities.

The two-day expo will feature distinguished speakers from different organizations who will share their experiences and insights. The first day will cater to learners from grades 7 to 11, while the second day will be dedicated solely to matric students. The event is specifically targeted at schools in the INK area, under the Department of Education Pinetown District.

Zinhle Mbatha, Executive Director of Glory Bush Foundation, emphasized the importance of this initiative in a recent statement. “In a time where unemployment rates continue to rise, the youth of our nation are faced with the daunting challenge of securing meaningful employment. At Glory Bush Foundation, we recognize that the issue at hand is not just unemployment, but unemployability – a lack of readiness and alignment between qualifications and job requirements.”

Mbatha highlighted the alarming statistics showing that a significant percentage of university graduates struggle to find jobs that match their credentials. This disconnect between education and employment underscores the urgent need for correct exposure and inspiration for young people as they make critical career decisions.

“Through our ongoing efforts and initiatives, Glory Bush Foundation is committed to equipping young learners with the tools and guidance they need to navigate the complexities of the job market successfully,” Mbatha continued. “Our mission is clear: to empower the youth to make informed career choices, ensuring that they are well-prepared to seize opportunities and build fulfilling careers.”

To the youth of the nation, Mbatha extended a message of hope and encouragement. “Take advantage of the resources and support available to you, explore your passions, and make informed decisions about your future. The path to success may be challenging, but with determination and the right guidance, you can overcome any obstacle.”

As the Career Expo approaches, the Glory Bush Foundation stands ready to support the youth every step of the way. The organization hopes to empower the next generation to shape a future filled with endless possibilities and opportunities.
