The President of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), Velenkosini Hlabisa, has expressed his concern that the country is running out of time to wait for new president’s cabinet announcement under the Government of National Unity(GNU) .
Speaking at a press conference at the IFP’s Head office in Durban this evening, Hlabisa said: “As the IFP, we are worried that the country is fast approaching a critical point where the President will have to make a decision about the formation of a government. We urge the African National Congress (ANC), the Democratic Alliance (DA), and other parties to put aside their differences and work towards a government that will benefit all South Africans.” Hlabisa said.
He added that the ANC wants to share power, while the DA also wants to share power, but he believes that a government of national unity is the best option.
“It is crucial that we put our differences aside and prioritize the needs of our people. As the IFP, we are committed to a Government of National Unity (GNU),” Hlabisa said.
