One person was killed in a horrific crash on N2 at Nyoni on KZN North Coast on Saturday morning.
A white VW Polo rear ended a truck leaving the front seat passenger entrapped in the wreck.
One female passenger died on the scene while four others survived with injuries.
Rural metro had to use the jaws of life to free the entrapped male passenger, whilst under the care of IPSS Medical Rescues advanced life support paramedic.
IPSS Medical Rescue, together with Lenmed Ethekweni Hospital and Heart centers advanced life support paramedic, treated and stabilised the injured on the scene before they were transported to Lenmed Ethekweni Hospital & Heart Center for the specialist care they required.
The impact of the crash was so severe that the car engine came off.
The driver of the truck was unharmed in the crash.
