EThekwini Municipality setup a major action in the direction of establishing foreign relations. This was signed the Mayor (Cyril Xaba) of the municipality with the deputy mayor of Ningde Municipal People’s Government from the People’s Republic of China. The historic train is here to make a solid connection between the two cities.
The mayor spoke out on the importance of the partnership, citing the commonalities of the two cities Durban and Ningde. “This conversation launches off a relationship, we hope, between the two cities that will last and bear fruit. Ningde has the same values as eThekwini in terms of innovation, resilience, and culture,” he told.
The connection is mainly to make cooperation easier and to help in the implementation of projects concerning trade, green energy, tourism, education, and environmental sustainability. “Today, we open ways through which our cities will be collaborating,” Xaba also communicated. “We are very thrilled about the options that this cooperation offers, and we are firmly dedicated to developing them in practice in both Durban and as well as in Ningde.”
Congratulating everyone in Ningde Mr. Mao Zuosong spoke about the likeness between the two cities, especially mentioning the worldwide economy. “Durban is the largest city in KwaZulu-Natal and one of the major port cities on the continent. In the same line with Ningde, we see that both are vigorous cities the latter being the place with the world’s largest research and the production base for lithium batteries and stainless-steel new materials. We propose to use these gifts for the benefit of the cities. We earnestly hope these gifts can make a better future.”
