As the country celebrates the birthday of the first black President, Dr. Nelson Mandela,on July 18

The Mayor of KwaDukuza Municipality, Cllr Lindile Nhanca, led a delegation to various places, including schools and old age homes, to spend 67 minutes of Mandela’s time. This took place on Wednesday, July 18, when Mayor Nhanca visited Thembeni Primary School and donated 50 shoes to pupils. The Mayor also visited the Imfundoyethu creche and pre-school, where she handed out gifts to children, and later proceeded to the Vulamehlo Hospice, where she donated a cheque of R40,000.

“We continue to do good deeds as done by Dr. Nelson Mandela, we choose to honor him by spending time with children and the elderly because Mandela loved spending time with children, and we also choose to help the elderly because they also loved him,”Nhanca said.

She urged the community to continue helping, not just on July 18.
