m7 crash and diesel spillage

The eThekwini Metro Police Department was forced to close the M7 eastbound after Bellville offramp on Monday afternoon following a serious crash involving multiple vehicles.

ALS Paramedics responded to reports of a crash involving two trucks and a car on the M7 Durbanbound carriageway just after Bellville offramp.

When Paramedics arrived on the scene they found that the initial crash had now turned into a multiple vehicle crash at a result of a diesel spillage.

Paramedics assessed five patients on scene however only one person had sustained moderate injuries and was stabilized and transported by ALS Paramedics to a nearby hospital.

A total of eleven cars and two trucks were involved in the collisions and as a result Metro Police decided to close the M7 Durban Bound.

At this stage the events leading up to the crash is unknown however SAPS will be investigating further.
