ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has expressed his willingness to work with the DA in forming the Gauteng government.
Speaking at a press conference at the Chief Albert Luthuli House in Johannesburg today, Mbalula said that the ANC and DA are exploring possibilities of forming a government of national unity, as they want to build a united front among political parties.
“We have tried other ways of building a government, and now we are considering a government of national unity, which includes all parties, because we want political stability. We are willing to engage with parties like the DA,” Mbalula said.
He added that the ANC is open to negotiations with the DA, led by Helen Zille, as they seek to find common ground to govern the GP province.
