A blaze erupted at Mont Blanc block of flats in South Beach, Durban, sending emergency services scrambling to the scene just before 8 p.m. on Sunday evening.
ALS Paramedics swiftly responded to the distress call reporting a building engulfed in flames along OR Tambo Parade in Durban Central.
Upon arrival, paramedics discovered the Durban Fire Department already engaged in combating the fire.
The inferno, which reportedly originated from a flat on the 14th floor, was promptly contained by the skilled firefighters, averting a potential catastrophe.

While the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined at this juncture, authorities including the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Fire Department have launched a thorough investigation to ascertain the sequence of events leading to the conflagration.

The victim received immediate medical attention from ALS Paramedics at the scene but declined further treatment.
