Premier Thami Ntuli emphasized the need for a peaceful and supportive atmosphere during the exam period, calling on the community to refrain from disruptive activities, particularly strikes. “These exams are a pivotal moment in the lives of many young people. I urge everyone to consider the future of these learners and refrain from striking during this period. Any disruptions will not only affect the students’ performance but could also impact the overall integrity of the examinations,” said the Premier.

His comments come amid concerns over potential protests in some regions, which have been known to escalate during key periods in the academic calendar. The Premier stressed the need for communities, parents, and leaders to prioritize the success of matriculants, adding that the provincial government has put necessary measures in place to ensure the smooth running of exams.

Schools have also been gearing up, with extra classes and study camps being organized to help learners perform at their best. Teachers have expressed their commitment to providing last-minute support, while exam authorities are working to guarantee secure and fair conditions in all centers.

The message from the Premier serves as a reminder that the success of the matric exams is a collective responsibility. By supporting the students during this time, communities can help lay the foundation for a brighter future for the next generation.
