There is growing tension between Mamelodi Sundowns and their head coach, Rhulani Mokwena. The 37-year- old recently won the DSTV Premiership title for the 2023/24 season, he revealed he does not have control over who goes and who stays at the club.
Mokwena has been vocal about the team’s recent player departures. Yesterday, the team announced that they had parted ways with players Bongani Zungu, Brian Onyango, Caston Sirino, and Thabiso Kutumela.
The tension between the coach and the team has been building due to his failure to win the Nedbank Cup, where they lost 2-1 to Orlando Pirates at the Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga on June 1.
