Former Lamontville Golden Arrows and Bafana Bafana player Thanduyise Khuboni has expressed his desire to see coach Manqoba Mngqithi leave Mamelodi Sundowns. Khuboni was critical of Mngqithi’s tactics during his time as coach of Bafana Besithende.

“I always wanted coach Manqoba to leave Sundowns and work elsewhere, just like Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu FC have done with their coaches. I know his capabilities and what he can achieve, but I believe his departure would bring success to Sundowns,” Khuboni said.

He also described Mngqithi as a coach with a winning mentality, but believes his tactics are no longer suitable for Sundowns.

Khuboni and Mngqithi have a history of success together, having won the MTN 8 title in 2009 when Arrows defeated Ajax Cape Town 6-0.
