Two people seriously injured in Cape Town light plane crash

Two people have been seriously injured in a light plane crash in Cape Town on Wednesday morning.

At 11h42, Netcare 911 responded to the plane crash on the R44 between Stellenbosch and Strand.

Reports indicate that a Piper PA-28 Cherokee light aircraft had made a forced landing on the main road.

The pilot and passenger, both adult males had sustained serious injuries.

Both patients were treat on scene and once stabilised were transported by ambulance to hospital for further care.

Circumstances leading up to the incident will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
