Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has praised the fans in Bloemfontein for their support during the team’s 3-1 win over Zimbabwe at the Free State Stadium on Tuesday, June 11. Broos was impressed by the energy and enthusiasm of the crowd, saying it was a pleasure to play in front of such a passionate audience.

Bafana dominated the match, with goals from Iqraam Rayners, Thapelo Morena, and a goal from Tawanda Chirewa. The win puts Bafana Bafana in second place in Group C, behind Rwanda. Broos praised the fans, saying, “I’ve been in South Africa for three years, and it’s the first time I’ve seen such a beautiful atmosphere in a Bafana Bafana match. I think the fans in Bloemfontein deserve more opportunities to enjoy matches like this.”

Broos also looked ahead to the team’s upcoming matches, saying they will work hard to qualify for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Bafana Bafana will continue their campaign to qualify for the World Cup in March 2025, when they face Lesotho at home and Benin away.
