Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has postponed the announcement of his cabinet, which was expected yesterday, due to ongoing negotiations with political parties opposed to the Government of National Unity (GNU).
According to sources, Lesufi was set to reveal his executive council yesterday, but the announcement was delayed due to intense discussions with rival parties. The GNU, a coalition government comprising different political parties, has been met with resistance from some parties, leading to the delay.
While Lesufi’s office has not officially confirmed the reason for the postponement, insiders reveal that the Premier is engaged in intense negotiations to resolve the impasse. The announcement is expected to be made once the negotiations are concluded.
