Durban – A 13-year-old Midlands boy is receiving treatment in hospital after he was mauled by two pitbulls in Howick yesterday morning.
Midlands EMS paramedics arrived on the scene and found the child lying on the side of the road with multiple bite marks on his body.
Paramedics had to use advanced life support intervention to treat him before taking him to hospital.
“It’s believed that the boy was walking with his brother and another family friend when the dogs came out of the yard, chased them and caught him and bit him multiple times. The child was lucky enough to be helped by a motorist passing by who chased the dogs away.”
The SPCA were then called to the area to assist.
