Following the devastating floods that hit KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) on June 3, the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) has called for unity in the face of disaster. The floods have affected various areas in the province, including Nquthu, Thongathi, Newcastle, Showe, Balito, KwaMaphumulo, KwaHlabisa, and Utrecht.
Les Govender, the IFP’s provincial spokesperson, urged for a united effort to support those affected by the floods, which have destroyed infrastructure and 12 people lost their lives in the province.
“The situation requires cooperation to help all those affected. Homes have been destroyed, families have lost loved ones, businesses have been ruined, and people have lost their belongings. We must show humanity and compassion towards one another, because we are all human and need each other,” said Govender.
