The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) has formally entered into a coalition agreement with the African National Congress (ANC), Democratic Alliance (DA), and National Freedom Party (NFP) in KwaZulu-Natal.

IFP President Velenkosi Hlabisa announced the formation of the coalition at a press conference in Durban, marking a significant development in the province’s political landscape.IFP has announced its support for a Government of National Unity (GNU).

The coalition partners have agreed to work together to form a government that prioritizes the needs of the people of KwaZulu-Natal. The agreement outlines key areas of cooperation, including economic development, education, and healthcare.

Hlabisa praised the coalition partners for their commitment to putting the interests of the people first. “We are united in our determination to address the challenges facing our province and ensure a brighter future for all,” Hlabisa said.T

The coalition agreement comes ahead of the 2024 elections and is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the parties’ positions in the province.
