Chatsmead Hospital has been badly damaged after a fire broke out in one of the wards in the early hours of this Sunday morning.
Emer-G-Med, Netcare 911, Blue Security, EThekwini Fire and Rescue Services as well as numerous other emergency personnel, responded to reports of a fire at Life Chatsmed Gardens Hospital in Chatsworth South of Durban in the early hours of this Sunday morning.
Reports from the scene are that a fire broke out in one of the wards and quickly spread to other wards leading to an evacuation.
No injuries were sustained, however considerable damage was caused by the fire.
