KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli promoted unity and peace in the province during the 10th International Yoga Day celebration held at the eThekwini Amphitheatre today.
The event was hosted by the Sivananda World Peace Foundation in partnership with the KZN provincial government and the national Department of Health.
Ntuli emphasized that the government supports this initiative as it aligns with their goal of promoting a healthy lifestyle among citizens.
“This program resonates with our vision of peace and unity, as we believe that yoga promotes harmony and balance,” Ntuli said.
Ishwar Ramlutchman, representative of the Sivananda World Peace Foundation, expressed joy in seeing people from diverse backgrounds unite through yoga, which fosters unity and peace.
“We have reached out to schools, old age homes, hospitals, and clinics with this yoga program, which has yielded a 100% pass rate in 45 schools participating in the program last year,” Ramlutchman said.
IShwar added, urging businesses and government to support this initiative, as it improves mental well-being.
