As the African National Congress (ANC), Democratic Alliance (DA), and Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) fail to secure a majority vote above 50% in the national elections, the parties are exploring a Government of National Unity (GNU). President Cyril Ramaphosa, DA leader John Steenhuisen, and IFP President Velenkosini Hlabisa are scheduled to meet today at Mahlamba Ndlopfu in Pretoria.

The aim of the meeting is for the leaders to discuss and agree on the terms of a cabinet that will work with the President. This meeting is crucial as it will determine whether the GNU will succeed or fail.
