President Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday announced a 21-day national lockdown from Thursday at midnight.

South Africans will be confined mostly in their homes with very limited movement.

The move is a desperate attempt to curb the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) rocking the country and world at large.

Other countries such as Italy, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Sudan, Libya and India, battling the covid-19 pandemic also introduced lockdowns. The rules of lockdowns are not the same for each country.
