Durban – The N2 has been closed since before dawn by protesters who have burnt tyres on both carriageways of the N2 at Umgababa.
WhatsApp groups started circulating warnings about the impending strike action related to housing and roads on Sunday, 24 February.
By 4am, burning tyres and rocks had been strewn across the freeway in the vicinity of the Umgababa Ultra City.
Police were to be deployed from 4am to monitor the roads, but motorists are urged to exercise caution.
