In a nail-biting finale, Two for Joy seized victory in the 2024 Khabba Cup, triumphing over Star Pirates on penalties after a riveting 1-1 draw. The showdown, sponsored by Hollywoodbets, captivated audiences and crowned the champions with R120,000 in winnings, while the runners-up claimed R50,000.

Coach TK Khoza expressed his pride in the team’s achievement, stating, “I am very proud of what the boys accomplished today due to their commitment. I’d like to thank Hollywoodbets and all the other sponsors and spectators for making today possible, until the next one.”

Spanning three stadiums in Wema, south of Durban, the Khabba Cup showcased 36 teams from SAFA KZN and Eastern Cape regions, vying fiercely for victory. Founded by former AmaZulu FC player Manqoba Mkhize, the tournament has evolved into a premier platform for youth development, drawing attention from scouts nationwide.

Mkhize reflected on the tournament’s growth, affirming, “The meteoric rise of the Khabba Cup has been astonishing. I want to make people’s dreams a reality through this tournament.”

The event also featured exhibitions, with football legends like Steve Lekoelea and Hollywoodbets Brand Ambassador Teko Modise adding to the excitement. Manqoba Mkhize emphasized the importance of partnerships like the one with Hollywoodbets in elevating South African football to international standards.

Hollywoodbets Senior Sponsorship Coordinator, Menzi Ngcobo, echoed the sentiment, expressing pride in supporting youth development. Ngcobo emphasized the brand’s commitment to nurturing talent and creating opportunities for aspiring footballers.Amidst the triumph, individual excellence shone through, with Sibani Mtungwa claiming the Player of the Tournament title and Mbhobho Ndlovu emerging as the Top Scorer. TK Khoza clinched Coach of the Tournament, while Siphamandla Nzuza, Ayanda Nzimande, and Thabiso Zulu showcased stellar performances in their respective positions.
