Durban – A man and a woman in their 40s have been killed in a collision between a truck and a bakkie on N2 south in Prospecton, south of Durban on Tuesday.
“Paramedics arrived on scene to find total carnage. Both occupants of the bakkie – a male and a female – sustained major injuries and unfortunately, on arrival of paramedics, there was nothing more they could do for the patients and they were declared deceased on scene,” Rescue Care’s Garrith Jamieson said.
Paramedics say the driver of the truck was also injured.
It was not immediately clear what caused the collision.
Traffic was hugely affected on both sides of the freeway.
